Very unique Scottish slate and silver plated chain bracelet. The stone is hand-decorated in gold, silver and copper colour.
The slates were hand picked on the Isle of Easdale.

The Story of the slate stones washed ashore at Isle of Easdale, Scotland.
The Isle of Easdale has predominantly been filled with slate mining villages in the 19th century. Gunpowder was used to blast the slate pits and by 1880 the main pit was over 75m deep and nearly 250 feet under the sea level with only very thin walls to keep the sea out. In late 1881 a violent storm raged on which resulted in the mines getting flooded; luckily the pits of Isle of Easdale were unmanned at the time, but over 240 families have lost their only means of support and severe poverty ensued in the area. After the tragedy, little bits of slate have been washing ashore locally ever since. This bracelet is made from one of those stones.
The bracelet is 17.5 cm long (7 inch) including clasp with additional 3.5 cm (1.3 inch) of extension.
